To the North East of Moscow lies a chain of small, ancient towns known
as the Golden Ring. These enchanting towns stand along the trade routes,
which during the Middle Ages, were located between Russia’s two main
centres at Novgorod and Kiev.
This extensive 12 night tour is designed for those who have a real
interest in Russia and are eager to get as much as possible from their
trip. We will take you through a thousand years of Russian history and a
thousand kilometers of Russian culture. You’ll experience both present
and past, cities and nature, huge capitals and tiny provincial museum
towns. You’ll visit ancient Kremlins and charming monasteries from a
variety of periods, preserved wooden houses and museums displaying the
great traditions of icon painting and handicrafts that still flourish
here.
